Problem Description:
When hireing a car three items are normally requested, Valid Driving license, valid Credit Card and in some cases a valid Passport.
if your passport and driving licence photograph expire at the wrong times its a real problem if you need both?
Proposed solution:
the DVLA and the Passport office could agree that if presented together the passport validity negates the need for a DVLA photo renewal ?
Cost or time incurred:
The time and cost for two goverment departments to reach agreement with each other ?

The DVLA or the DfT do not issue any guidelines to car hire companies on what they should accept as ID, it's up to the individual company to decide.
